In the Jungle the Lion Sleeps Tonight!

On Monday October 27th was the pony clubs annual Halloween party! Yes the pony's were invited. There were definitely horses of a different color everywhere.

Elizabeth was a "vegetarian" lion riding her "zebra".

We tried to convince her to have a piece of zebra fabric hanging from her mouth but she wouldn't go for it!!! She was a "nice"!!! lion after all!! She won the most silliest costume in her age group 8 and under. It's not very often that a zebra LETS a lion ride it you know! They had hamburgers and hot dogs and of course all kinds of things made of sugar!! She's still trying to figure out what to be for "real" Halloween. I've told her it must be something Poppa can help her with (I have school till 5pm) and that she already has somewhere in her room. It just might be Minnie Mouse, but the jury is still out.
I've included some "during" pictures of making Beauty into a zebra. He was sooooo patient. We went through 16 cans of white hair spray and one and a half rolls of masking tape. It took about 2 hours to get him all done, that include sending Jeff to the nearest WalMart to get more hairspray. I also spent another 30 minutes touching him up the day of the party. We painted him the day before because I wasn't going to have time the day of. We had some friends over to help...."How many people does it take to turn a little pony into a zebra?"......SEVEN.

I know when I get to heaven my animals are going to have a real sit down talking to me!!! I've put them through all kinds of things.

The Lord gives countless of blessings

I just read my emails and I don't have to go to school at all tomorrow. Now in and of itself this is good news; however it's by far more than that. you see I was hopeing yesterday was Stake Conference so I kinda had an out of going to church, no class to teach and all, but that's going to be this upcoming Sunday. I really need those three hours, actually five with getting ready and lunch afterwords, for homework. I stretch myself too thin this weekend and couldn't finish homework and take the three quizzes I had. But I got up and went to church hopeing I would get something out of it that I could see. Well my class got to watch "Praise to the Man" good movie. and Relief Society was very uplifting it was on the struggles of Joseph Smith.
I did all my quizzes but didn't quiet finish my study questions, I only got 4 out of 10, better than a zero. So tomorrow I can catch up and finish all that I can. My laundry might (teehee) get folded, the fish tank will get cleaned, the table will be seen again, and most important homework will get done, well at least mostly done! It may seem like a little thing but to not have to drive all the way out to LCC at least once is wonderful. I'll be able to pick E up from school. I'm so glad I went to church yesterday!!!!

Starting week four..

Today we get to inject each other again. No bony contact or anything so should be a breeze. Can we say the adrenalin has wore off the excitement of starting school again is all over. The pile of clean clothes on the couch, my beautiful fish tank turning brown, the kitchen barely noticeable, the table somewhere under all the papers, and I won't even mention the floors. I'm surprised that I haven't lost Elizabeth somewhere in the ciaos of home. Only six short weeks left till a four week Christmas Break!!!!

Leathal injections!

Well I'm still alive and so is my victim, oh I mean classmate. We took on the task of injecting a small amount of anesthesia into the dark recesses of the inside of our mouths today. Did you know you can fit 25mm of a 32mm syringe between your gums and mandibular bone? My poor classmate had me for a victim, oh I mean patient. And apparently you only need to go 20mm into my "Proper depth and angle". At 25mm is my maxillary branch of my trigeminal nerve. When that has been poked with a sharp, pointy needle and then anesthesia deposited directly onto it, it feels like someone hooked up my electric fence and turned it to full tilt and attached to the inside of my mouth. So now my classmate knows how to deal with an unruly patient. My victim, I mean patient, was wonderful!! I felt so bad about jumping out of my chair with the syringe still firmly in mouth. She was very quick though and did a great job!! Next week we get to inject the PSA, posterior superior alveolar nerve block, that's in the maxillary arch! yipee.

It's raining cats and dogs!

Well... yesterday morning Elizabeth came back into the house after letting the chickens out saying a cat was meowing and she would meow and it would meow back. I told her it was just our cat Oreo. (wishful thinking) So a little later I went out to feed everybody and let the horses out, well I her the meowing and since I'm used to meowing and was paying attention to the new dogs and the horses I thought it was our other cat Mufasa. Then I started listening a little closer to the sound of the meow; it was not Mufasa. It was a much younger sounding meow...then around the corner of our trailer comes this very persist ant little kitten. Even when McKenzie our black lab came up to it, it didn't back down, the dog back away. So here's a picture of our little no named little girl. I'm running out of names. I know Disney has many more names out there and I have thought of "Wendy" considering our other little ones but calling around the house for a "Peter" is a pushing it. I don't like people names for animals so much, there's always an exception; A regal looking shepherd or dane named "George" would be funny. I digress

As you see she is a Siamese and yes she has the voice of one too! She has quieted down today, thank goodness. Tink was getting a little irritated. Tinks expressions were priceless though, she's definitely in "teenage" mode. being 5 months old and all. Jeff and I think she was thrown from a car or something. She has some cuts and bruises and her bottom lip looks like its been pulled away from her jaw. :( She has an excellent motor! She already acts like this is her home and she's been here the entire time.
So I ask again who wants to house sit?!?!?!? TeeHee!

Well we have 2 more...

We just got 2 more dogs. I know. I know. I tell you if there is any animal out there that is in need of a home it finds us. Their original owner got foreclosed on and had to move into an apartment and couldn't take her dogs. Well she's in Susan and Wayne Antone's ward, Jeff's sister's in-laws, so we get a phone call on Sunday night and the dogs were going to go to Greenhill if a home couldn't be found for them and well I guess the home was found. Marley is a neutered male golden retriever, 5 years old. Tell is a 3 year old mutt, yellow lab and whippet by the coloring and face. Marley is shy and thin, Tess is not! I like Marley and Tess might have potential. If we could find Tess a home I could go for that. But she's um definitely interesting to look at. Believe it or not McKenzie actually seems to be happy to have pack mates again. I'm curious what Tell will look like when she's not so square.

Well, I made it through my first injection! To say there's not a lot of "tissue" between your maxillary bone and your gum tissue is an understatement. Also my partner forgot to mention, until I was ready to place the topical anesthesia, that she just found out she's pregnant. Needless to say I could progress no further. So some "lucky" classmate got TWO injections. Fortunately for her she was still numb when I came at her with my ever so "steady" HaHAHAHAHA hands. Our class mate now doesn't have the opportunity to receive a single injection from any of her classmates. I have a feeling a rash of pregnancies just might occur. Let just say it's not the most enjoyable experience to be the guinea pig to someone's first time mouth injections!!!!
So, Cindy I hope this was worth the wait! ;)

The end of week one!

Well i did it!! I made it thru week one!! I've been sitting here trying to think of something clever to say to explain the first week back to school; but my brain cells are on strike, it being Saturday evening and all. Little do they know I have much more studying yet to do. I really want to know how to give the injection on Monday! I've already taken a test, ready to take another tomorrow did two homework assignments and learned some new instrumentation and acquired $2100.00+ worth of new instruments. I already had about $2000.00 worth from last year. I also found out how much all my boards, so I can be a registered Dental Hygienist, are going to cost, around $2500.00. That's not covered in financial aid; So who wants to loan me some money? :) The good thing is I know how much and when I need to have them paid, January, so we can start saving! It has been a very good week actually. I had a very relaxing summer and now that I'm back I'm able to focus clearer and retain more. What also help is that I don't have to be to school till the afternoon, for the most part. So my brain has a nice leisurely time to wake up. That's great for us night people. I'm not so stressed out!(yet) Well that's all I can think of for now. I need to get "Doodles" to bed so I can get back to the books. woohoo.
